Ignite is a teaching school based at Ormiston Venture Academy in Gorleston, Norfolk. We are proud to be designated as a National Teaching School because of our commitment to providing an outstanding education for all students.
Ignite is established upon ethos that all students, regardless of their background, deserve an outstanding education. This is a reflection of the vision of OAT that all young people have the highest academic, social and practical skills to allow them to lead a fulfilling life. Ignite aims to provide a wide menu of opportunities to support teaching and non-teaching staff in achieving this goal.
We are working in partnership with a range of strategic partners to deliver the Big 6 areas of Ignite. Ormiston Victory Academy in Norwich, another outstanding academy, is supporting the work of Ignite and increasing the opportunities available through the teaching school.
Teaching schools are outstanding schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and development to new and experienced school staff. They are part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system.
The lead school of Ignite is Ormiston Venture Academy (link to Venture website) in Gorleston, Norfolk. Venture is an outstanding academy with a track record securing high quality outcomes for all students, with a history of developing partnerships with other schools, at a local and national level.
Ignite is comprised of academies from the Ormiston Academies Trust in the East, and both primary and secondary schools in Norfolk and Suffolk.
