We have extensive experience in delivering CPD and have had very positive feedback from delegates who have attended the OTP course.  The facilitators have considerable experience of successful teaching and development roles within the schools and the wider teaching community.
Our OTP is open to teachers with the potential and capacity to deliver consistently outstanding lessons. Applicants need to demonstrate:  A strong commitment to learning and teaching, and show that they have strong interpersonal skills;  A commitment to professional development and the ability to truly reflect on their practice, including using student feedback to evaluate the impact of their teaching.
This programme aims to support teachers in becoming consistently outstanding in all their professional activities and have a significant impact on how other people achieve.
The programme runs consists of two full days and eight half day facilitated sessions over a ten week period. It is delivered through face-to-face taught sessions, classroom observations and learning walks within the host school. During 5 weeks of the programme sessions are based on ‘in school’ activities.

The Outstanding Teacher Programme gives good (and outstanding) teachers a set of high level skills and strategies that enable them to become consistently and sustainably outstanding.  The programme enables teachers to:

        • demonstrate higher level understanding of teaching and improving learning for their students
        • create a proactive school culture where the quality of teaching and learning is observed, discussed, challenged and enhanced.
        • A commitment to professional development and the ability to truly reflect on their practice, including using student feedback to evaluate the impact of their teaching

What are the aims?

Programme Structure

The programme consists of two full days and eight half day session facilitated sessions over a ten week period. It is delivered through face-to-face taught sessions, classroom observations and learning walks within the host school. During 5 weeks of the programme sessions are based on ‘in school’ activities.

Commitment?

The programme works best if schools are able to send three teachers on the same course, so staff can work in ‘learning threes’. However ‘learning threes’ can be formed from local cluster schools. You will also have to nominate an in school coach to support participants with post session challenges and give time to participants to collaborate in school. Time will also need to be allocated each week to give delegates the opportunity to collaborate on post session challenges.
