About Teacher Training

In partnership with the University of East Anglia (UEA) and Suffolk and Norfolk School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) we offer excellent Initial Teacher Training education (ITE) to graduates and career changes joining the
teaching profession as primary and secondary teachers. As a trainee teacher with us, you will have
access to invaluable training, school and classroom experience to equip you with the knowledge,
skills and expertise that you will need to become an excellent teacher.

  • Access to invaluable schools and classroom practice as you learn on the job in one of our alliance schools
  • Bursaries of up to £30,000 for high-priority subjects or earn a salary as you train, subject to eligibility
  • Scholarships of £35,000 – £30,000 available for maths, chemistry, physics and computer science graduates, subject to eligibility.
  • Bespoke subject and pedagogical training days with your fellow trainees
  • Outstanding mentor and Initial Teacher Training team support
  • A second placement in a contrasting school environment
  • Half termly training with all Ignite TSA trainees

The two routes into teacher we offer are:

  • School Direct (Unsalaried) with the UEA
  • School Direct (Salaried) with Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT
