“A researching school is an improving school”.

Research and development is an exciting element of Ignite and we fully embrace the benefits and challenges it brings. A key principle of all research and development activity across Ignite is that there are clear benefits for students.

To this end research and development is directly linked to improving outcomes for students, is innovative and takes into account the context of Ignite within our alliance. We aim to become nationally and globally recognised leaders as a result of the high impact of research and development across Ignite.

Collaborative work across Ignite is central to the success of all research and development, allowing us to refine our research practices and share outcomes in a way that leads to high impact on the quality of teaching, and ultimately the attainment of students.

Through our partnership with universities across the country, research and development is supported in research and development opportunities for sharing research is embedded through conferences and sharing research online.
